Thomert's price tag too much for Tottenham

LENS, France (AFP) — Tottenham have ended negotiations to secure French player Olivier Thomert after Lens slapped a 14-million-euro (17-million-dollar) price tag on the midfielder, the French first division club side announced.

Lens said it had refused an offer of "three to four million euros" for the 24-year-old from the English club now coached by former France coach Jacques Santini.

It added that a transfer "would not be possible for less than 14 million euros".
