Biography

This US rock outfit started out as a hardcore crossover band. Originally known as No Labels, the band was formed in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, in 1982 by Reed Mullin (drums), Woody Weatherman (guitar) and Mike Dean (bass/vocals), and rose to become one of the biggest draws on the US underground scene with their stunning live shows. Their 1983 debut Eye For An Eye , with vocals supplied by Eric Eycke, separated them from the pack by mixing hardcore speed with Black Sabbath and Deep Purple-influenced power riffing. The departure of Eycke saw Dean taking over vocal duties on the Six Songs With Mike Singing mini-album. A more metallic crossover style became evident with Animosity , although the band had lost neither their aggression nor their hardcore ideals.
